Acceptable Use Policy

Overview
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the rules that apply to all users of LEDGA ("the Service"). By using LEDGA you agree to comply with this policy. Violations may result in account suspension or termination.
Permitted Use
LEDGA is designed for lawful business accounting, invoicing, expense tracking, and financial reporting. You may use the Service to:
- Create and send invoices to your clients
- Track income and expenses for your business
- Generate VAT returns and financial reports
- Reconcile bank transactions
- Manage customer and supplier records
- Collaborate with team members on financial data
Prohibited Activities
You must not use LEDGA to:
- Conduct or facilitate any illegal activity, including money laundering, fraud, or tax evasion
- Create fraudulent invoices or false financial records
- Store or transmit malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or data
- Circumvent security measures, rate limits, or access controls
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service without written authorisation
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service beyond the provided API
- Transmit unsolicited marketing, spam, or phishing content through invoices or communications
- Impersonate another person, business, or entity
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service's infrastructure or availability
Data Accuracy
You are responsible for the accuracy of data entered into LEDGA. While we provide tools for VAT calculation and financial reporting, LEDGA is not a substitute for professional accounting or tax advice. You should verify all calculations and consult a registered accountant or tax practitioner for compliance with South African tax law.
API Usage
If you have API access (Professional plan), you must:
- Respect rate limits and throttling headers
- Authenticate properly using your API keys
- Not share API keys with third parties
- Use the API only for purposes consistent with this policy
Enforcement
If we determine you have violated this policy, we may take one or more of the following actions:
- Issue a written warning
- Temporarily suspend your account
- Permanently terminate your account
- Report the violation to relevant authorities (e.g. SARS, SAPS, or the Information Regulator)
We will make reasonable efforts to contact you before taking action, except where immediate action is necessary to protect the Service or other users.
